I'm happy to announce that there will be an upcoming holiday trunk show for Ferlanti Couture & WFD (Wildfire Designs Jewelry) next weekend, on Saturday, November 17th, 1-5 pm, in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania! For those of you who are curious to see my jewelry up close & in person, now's your chance. I only do two shows a year in the central PA area (The Lewisburg Arts Festival in April & the WFD/Ferlanti Couture Holiday Trunk Show before the winter holidays.) Whether you happen to be a local Lewisburg/Central PA area resident or an out-of-towner, you are certainly welcome to attend the show.

Here's some helpful travel-related information & recommendations, which I've written especially for out-of-town visitors....

VISITOR INFORMATION:

Out-of-towners can make a weekend out of the excursion. In addition to the jewelry trunk show, you can check out what the town of Lewisburg has to offer! Lewisburg was rated, by author Norm Crampton, in his book, "The 100 Best Small Towns in America," as one of the top 20 small towns to live in, in the entire country! (Lewisburg was rated 16th out of 100.)

The town is a lively mix of friendly people. There's always lots of activities going on (i.e., festivals, concerts -- like the ongoing "music in the park" series or live music acts (in various clubs & pubs), museums, theatre productions, etc.) in both in the town & at the university (i.e., Bucknell University).

While beautiful scenery & nature abound year-round in Lewisburg, this is the perfect time to catch a glimpse of the fall leaves while driving, hiking, walking, running, biking on Lewisburg's many roads, hiking trails, bike paths, parks, or even kayaking or canoeing on its many rivers, streams, & creeks. and Suquehanna River or other nearby rivers & creeks .

There are also several new restaurants in the area (Brasserie Louis, Marco's Tapas, Herwig's, etc.), plus relative newcomers like Reba & Pancho's and Cherry Alley Café, as well as old standbys like The Towne Tavern, Temperance House, and Tedd's Landing (on Rte. 15 in Shamokin Dam, which is just outside of Lewisburg). For a more upscale dining experience, try local perennial favorites, Elizabeth's: An American Bistro and The Victorian Lady. For more casual dining options, check out Original Italian Pizza (OIP) and Zelda's Bakery Café. [If you plan to eat at Original Italian Pizza (OIP), I recommend you try the tuna cosmos (grinders). Ask anyone in town. They are simply the best -- Hands-down, no contest!]

For a refined & relaxing lodging experience, I recommend the quaint Victorian B&B, The Pineapple Inn. (Due to its charm & convenient location, this establishment is usually the inn of choice for many Buckellians' parents.) There are also several other B&Bs in & around Lewisburg that you might want to check out as well: Brookpark Bed & Breakfast Inn (in Lewisburg), Anni's Inn & Outings (also in Lewisburg), The Singing Breezes Bed & Breakfast Suite (in nearby Winfield), & Bison Farm II B&B (which is further out, midway between Selinsgrove & Mifflintown).

For an elegant B&B/inn experience, you could also check out
The Inn At New Berlin in nearby New Berlin (which is right off Route 15, just outside of Lewisburg). In nearby Sunbury, there's also the picturesque Riverview Inn B&B, which has gorgeous, spacious interiors. I've also heard that the The Selinsgrove Inn is quite nice as well. Many college students' parents -- from both Bucknell & Susquehanna Universities -- typically stay there when they visit.

There's also the Lewisburg Hotel, The Allsuites Inn and the more generic/standard hotel chains like The Hampton Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Econolodge & Days Inn (the latter two of which were rated poorly by guestly & so, would probably be best to avoid). In Lewisburg, there's also Country Inns & Suites by Carlson and Best Western Country Cupboard Inn.
